OnThursday, 9th July 1958 in the quiet and quaint island of Abraham’sBay, Mayaguana Edwin and Albertha Charlton (both deceased) welcomed the arrivalof their first child, whom they named, Thomas Edney Edison Charlton. He was affectionately called “Bull.”
ATIME TO LEARN
Thomas,who was known as a very quiet man with a wealth of wisdom completed his educationat the Abraham’s Bay All Age School and became a monitor shortly thereafter.
ATIME TO WORK
Thomas,who was blessed with gifted hands and lots of talents, he was acontractor. He worked for government aswell as Cavalier Construction Company in Nassau. He was also the local plumber and architectin Mayaguana. Thomas was also a member of The Royal Bahamas Police Forcein the 1980’s. His police number was1145.
ATIME TO LOVE
Thomasmet and fell in love with Persis Ann Glinton and they were united in HolyMatrimony on December 14th, 1993. This union was blessed with four children: Yori, Jada, Thomia Charltonand Debora Edwards. He was devoted to his family and had a special love for hiswife and children. He was a provider andloved preparing meals for his family.
ATIME TO SERVE AND WORSHIP
Thomashad a personal relationship with the Lord. He attended the St. James Native Baptist Church in Mayaguana. He served as a Sunday School Teacher andassisted from time to time with the scripture reading and with whatever he wascalled upon to do. He was loved by themembers of St. James Native Baptist Church as well as the Communities ofMayaguana.
ATIME TO DIE
Thomas was home alone as his wife had to travel for theweekend for a funeral. Thomas loved to walk and on the morning of Monday, 31stJuly 2023, while walking he fell ill and quietly and peacefully he slipped awayto be with his Lord and Savior. We giveGod thanks for his life and as believers we have hope that we shall see himagain on that Glad Reunion Day.
