HIS BIRTH
On the beautiful island of New Providence, May 14th 1989, better known as Mother’s Day, Mizpah & Samuel welcomed their handsome baby boy whom they affectionately called Samuel Alexander II fondly known as “Junior”.
At an early Junior always had a mindset to make extra funds. He had a part-time job on the weekends where he would pack grocery bags at a local Supermarket. On the summer months Junior, his siblings and cousin would spend most of their time at their grandparents’ house.
His grandfather (Forbes) played a big role in hislife. Each morning whilst his parents were off to work, his grandfather woulddrop him and his cousin off at school. Most time his grandfather was in the carbefore them. Sometimes junior and his big cousin Ricardo would get in mischiefby placing a banana in the muffler in their grandfather vehicle whilst on thereto school.
HIS EDUCATION
Junior began his early education at Aunt JennyPreschool where he graduated as the top student in his class. He furthered hiseducation at E. P. Robert Primary School, C. H. Reeves Junior High School, andR.M. Bailey Senior High School where he graduated with top honors. After highschool, Junior enrolled himself in The University of The Bahamas formally knownas College of The Bahamas where he completed his studies in BusinessAdministration.
HIS CAREER
While attending college, Junior had a part-timejob as a Shift Supervisor at Burger King. Junior was always eager to finddifferent opportunities. In June of 2008, He was employed at Atlantis ParadiseIsland where he worked in the Laundry and The Coral Engineering Department. In2022 he furthered his employment at E & U Water Coolers where he met awonderful line of support staff who were eager to welcomed him on board. He wasa multi-talented man who excelled in varies fields. He was a plumber, mechanic,electrician by heart and an influencer to his family and friends.
HIS FAMILY
On Beautiful afternoon of August 23, 2011, Samalong with his male friend Kenton, made their daily rounds through MollieStreet to hail Sam grandmother affectionately called “mammy”. A beautiful ladycame through the short cut with her friend Sunshine, and it was right then heknew he had met the love of his life. Sam asked Lapeachra if she would care tojoin him and his boys for a ride along with conch salad and daiquiri. Lapeachrawas blown away and said yes. While on their journey for conch salad, Sam askedLapeachra if it was her real name, her response was “yes Sam” his response was“your name is so unique”. Sam made a movethat night and ask Lapeachra will you be my girlfriend she said “YES”! Sam andLapeachra better known as “Peachie” spend most of their time together talkingabout life, going for long drives, conch salad, movie, and dinner dates. On June 15, 2015 a day after Peachiebirthday, she found out she was pregnant. Sam was ecstatic about the newsbecause he always wanted to start his own family. However, during the genderrevealed he found out they were having a boy, Sam wanted a girl but was happyto have a baby boy. They couldn’t way to break the news to both grandparent’s,they too were exhilarated. Christmas of 2015 both grandparents went shoppingfor their new addition to the family. On the eve of Valentine’s Day 2016, Peachiewater bag broke and was in labor for 19 hours, Sam was anxious to meet his son.On February 14, 2016 better known as “Valentine’s Day they both welcomed their7lbs handsome bundle of joy, who they affectionately called “Samaj Asher”. Samwould always stop by on his lunch breaks to feed “Samaj” and would often kisshis feet and said, “you were born on the 14 just like daddy”. In August 2018 thefamily planned their first vacation to Orlando Florida. Sam and Peachie wereeager to enrolled samaj in kindergarten. Samaj cried on the first day but suckup his tears after the second day of school. Sam would often help him withschool projects and homework’s. Thefamily enjoyed going on beach picnics, water park, game room and shopping. OnChristmas Eve of 2019, while Peachie was in her room wrapping some gifts, Samcame out of nowhere down on one knee asking for her hand in marriage. Ofcourse, Peachie was blown away again, and said “Yes Yes Yes”. The coupledplanned their wedding in the Fall of 2020 but was faced with the pandemic, theywere forced to plan in what would have been November of this year,unfortunately God had other plans.
UNTIMELY DEATH
On the week of September 30, 2023, Junior doesn’tmiss a day without calling his mother to asked, “Mommy you alright”? “Mommy youreached work”? “Mommy I will call you once I get on the road”. Although it wasunusual not to hear from him in a couple days, his mother received a call onWednesday 27, 2023, from Sammy stating, he was only calling to check up on youmommy”. On Eve of his untimely death, his boss, Mr. Pratt noticed he didn’tlook well and send him home. Mr. Pratt told him to get some rest and come backto work tomorrow, Sam responded and said OKAY. September 30, 2023, Sammy calledhis mother at 7:40 am, and asked “Mommy can you bring me something to eat andtwo Gatorade, I feel weak”. His mother was washing and dropped everything andleft home. At this time, Sammy would have called his mother four times as shesped through traffic to bring the items he requested. His mother arrived and met Sammy sitting onthe cesspool in tears holding his stomach. He asked his mother to help him upas they walk inside the house and later on to his room. He took a sip of his gatorade.She prayed for him whilst he holds her hands, after the prayer Sammy said,“Mommy I going to get some rest, I’ll called you when I wake up” his mother responded,“I love you please called me when you wake up”, his response was “I love you tomommy, lock the front door behind you. Shortly after 10, his mommy received a callstating “Junior isn’t moving come quick”. Upon arriving on scene his mother metthe pandemic and her daughter. As his mother entered the home, she met her sonlifeless body on the floor. She began to pray.
Junior was a great father to his son, a vigorousman to his fiancé, an amazing son to his parents, a generous brother to hissiblings, a warm-hearted uncle, and the life of a party to his cousin andfriends. Junior was admired for his charming personality and infectious eyes.He was man of great strength and resilience, who faced life’s challenges withan unwavering spirit. His positive outlook on life and his willingness to helpothers made him a beloved figure amongst his peers. He was a true inspirationto all those who knew him. Well done, servant of the Lord.
Samuel Forbes II is predeceased by hisgrandparents and step grandfather, George Bowles Sr, AlbertForbes, Vilna & Hilton Taylor.
