Olius Absolu

A time to be born

On February16th 1942 in the vegetative settlement of Laplate-Dugas in Haiti,  a legacy was born to Mr. Salius Absolu &Ms. Dorçilia Dacèus Dorvèus and made his debut to the world. They named himOlius Absolu, whose family and friends would go on to address Olius by hisnickname “Do-Do”.

The Early Years

Olius was brought up in a loving environmentin the countryside,  thus prompting hislove for all the natural wonders. He and his siblings were close knitted,especially since they were all boys, he learned the true definition ofbrotherhood by sticking alongside his brothers and father, whom he loved andlooked up to. Olius was also a very handy and helpful gentlemen

A Time for Education

Salius andDorçilia were very adamant on a good upbringing for their son, they ensuredthat Olius attended school and set him on the right path which would aid him inthe various trades he would pick up later on in his life.

A Time for Work

Early intohis adulthood, Olius had a strong devotion for his many trades and was a veryhard worker. He started off into his profession by turning his love forpastries into his small business. Later on in his adult life while in Haiti,Olius began working on his subsistence farm, and just like his previouspassions, this too would also become a monetary hobby. In May 1979, Oliusmigrated from Haiti in search of a better way of life, to Nassau, The Bahamas.He continued to thrive, working hard to provide for his family.

A Time for Love

Later in hisadult life, Olius met his deceased wife whom he loved dearly. They  got married and had four beautiful childrenin the countryside where they raised their children on the principles that bothof their parents had instilled in them. This dynamic duo showered theirchildren with love. Later on his life Olius would go on to find companionshipin Claudette Theresia Joseph.

A Time to Die

Oliusentered the Princess Margaret Hospital on December 3rd shortly after statingthat he didn’t feel well. He would then spend 8 days undergoing medicalobservation and treatment, however, as the days went by his conditions worsenedto the point of him being unresponsive. Despite all of this, Olius wouldcontinue to fight the good fight until the early hours of Monday December 11th,2023 where he went onto Glory at approximately 5:00am. He now awaits his newbody while resting in peace.

Sleep on Olius. Take your rest. We love you, but Jesus loves you best. You will foreverbe in our hearts. May your soul rest in peace.

Olius waspredeceased by his Wife: SaintfiliaAlcira Absolu and his Parents: Ms.Dorçilia Dacèus Dorvèus.
