A TIME TO BE BORN

It was an extraordinary day on the 5th August,1947 in the life of the late Bertram Armaly and Whitfred Armaly, in thetranquil island of the Berry Island. It was the day, they welcomed Norman RogerArmaly. Norman was the second to the last child, affectionately known bynumerous nicknames by his family and friends, he was called Splinz, Snoozs,Pap’s and Ole man. He was known and loved by many,

A TIME TO BE EDUCATED

Growing up in Nassau Norman attending the All SouthernSchool a participated in softball, shooting pool in other sports. He believedin getting a good education and encouraged his children to always do well inschool. He lived to experience their successes and was a very proud andsupportive father.

A TIME TO WORK

Norman lived believing that by the sweat of your brow youshall eat bread. Upon completing school, he worked at the Britannia Tower Hotelas a Bus boy. He later worked in the Public Service from 1964 to 1977, thenfrom 1977 to 2005 he became a Permanent and Pensionable civilian servant inWater & Sewage Corporation as a Meter reader. Norman worked at theCorporation 41 years until his retirement. He was a skilled plumber, mason andbuilder, he was also a family man who entertainer loved to dance and be thelife of the party at family gatherings.

A TIME TO LOVE

Norman was a family man, a loving father and husband. He metand married the late Elizabeth Victoria Russell in September 12th1981. Throughout Norman’s life he was blessed with ten loving children. Thelife storms, his relationship with his children and grandchildren grew,strengthened and blossomed.

A TIME TO ENJOY LIFE

Norman enjoyed his retirement by travelling the world, spendingtime with his late wife, children, grand kids and sister’s abroad. When it cameto his sports Norman love softball and he made it priority to go on Saturdaysto the softball field to either watch or play on the field whether it was thegovernment departmental or private league, and this is where he would end daySaturdays at the old timers’ field. Norman played softball with BahamasCommercial, Aspen Pros, Smith Royal, Corner Boy’s, & the MastersAssociation Softball Team etc. He also played on the Jumbo Pool club and theDomino Team. He never had a dull moment in his life, he lived with no regrets.

A TIME TO DIE

On 16th September, 2021 he was admitted tohospital after having a fall at home where he spends a few days and was laterdischarged.  After spending a short timehome, he was re-admitted on the 13th October, 2021. Because ofhealth issues and the pain was too much to bear. On the 21st ofOctober, 2021 he spread his wings, and set course to the Lord in eternal rest.
