Marvie Louise Ferguson

ATime to Be Born Marvie was born 6th March 1945in Blue Hills, Turks & Caicos Island. She was the fourth of eight (8)children born to George and Bethel Williams. At the tender age of only 9 months old, she was brought to Nassau, Bahamaswhere she lived with her grandmother Jane Fritz.  She was nurtured and loved by her.

ATime to Learn…..Marvie received herearly education at St. Agnes Pre-school. She later attended Southern Prep, Southern Junior and Southern SeniorSchools.  She finished school at themandatory age of fourteen (14) to care for her younger siblings..

ATime to Work…After completing hereducation she found gainful employment at numerous entities including TastyFreeze and Restaurant Bahamas. (Kentucky Fried Chicken). She held this post forover thirty years. After her retirement she became an entrepreneur creating herown business with staff and regular big business clientele. She was a hardworking individual offering excellent customer service until she fell ill in2018 where she was hospitalized with a heart condition. Due to her strong faithin God she rallied up and bounced back. She continued to work.

ATime for Family …..Marvie was courted bythe persistent Rosevelt (Carl) Ferguson and they were married on April 19th1961. This union produced eight (8) children, Winston Albert, Katherine,Bridgette (Genece) Dwight, Dwayne, Everette and Nekita. Marvie was very familyoriented and as a couple they built their home out of their pockets, and theyworked diligently over the years ensuring their children were nurtured withlove. Marvie loved her family dearly and did all she could to ensure theirhappiness and contentment in life.  Herfamily was her life, especially her grand and great grandchildren, whom sheadored. They could always count on her to sponsor them for trips and anythingelse they needed. Marvie had a special hand in raising her great grandsonAdriano, he would often be seen tagging along with her to church and otherfunctions. Marvie always involved herself in church activities.  She was an active, devoted member of theAnnex Baptist Cathedral, where she served with the Women’s Ministry and sang inthe Sanctuary Choir. She was also an active member of Modern Free and AcceptedMasons, (OES) where she served in her local Chapter, Daughter of  Isis 352 and Heroines of Jordan Grand Chapterfrom 1988. Not only did Marvie have a love for her family, church and chapter,she had a profound love for travel. She spent many weeks during her matureadult years traveling the high seas to countries all over the world.

ATime to Die…Marvie’s health began tofail again in early 2022 where she suffered a stroke in which she washospitalized for several weeks. She returned home and continued to fight and remained faithful to God. Shewas always surrounded by her children, grandchildren and other familymembers.  On August 15th she was rushedto the Princess Margaret Hospital after experiencing complications. In theearly hours of the morning on August 17th she answered the call, Marvie slippedaway and went home to be with The Lord.

Rashawnna,Shantia(Edrica)(Tonny) Mcphee-Simon, Prince, Chesterton, Peyton, Dwanye Jr.,Tremaine, Ty, Shakita (Zendal) Colebrooke, Donelle and Natalia.  Nineteen(19) Great Grand Children,  One (1) Brother: Richard Williams,  Three (3) Sisters: Rennia Rolle, Dorothy Knowles and Grace Todd; Nieces:Tanya Todd, Sharmaine Ferguson,Rachel Deveaux, Kimbly Samual, Donelle Williams, Adriana and Richema Williams,Tonya Higgs, Richae' Ferguson and Reshan Rolle. Nephews:  Trevor,Patrick,Derek, Corey, Doyle, James, Ricardo, Rodrecus, Lavar, Stanley,

Renaldoand Richard Jr. Williams. NumerousGrandnieces and Grandnephews;Brothers-in-law: Claudius, Uthal ;Sisters-in-laws:Helena, Velma, Pamela Williams and Marjorie Farquharson.
