It was a beautifulday in the Grove when a bouncing baby girl was born to Gladys Joseph and Addington Rolle onthe 29 May, 1958. They named her Lucille affectionately called“LOU” by all. Lou had a free spirit; she was a tom boy as a child and dear todo what many wouldconsiderimpossible. Lou lived a very simple life, her humble nature drew many personsto her, who use her as their confidant. She died holding many secrets. Lou wasa caregiver for all her nieces and nephews and their children, who couldn’tfind a more generous, caring and loving individual. Lou’s early childhoodeducation begun at St. Cecilia and Our Lady’s Catholic Schools. However, shecompleted her elementary education at Claridge Primary School. Lou attendedHighbury High currently known as R. M. Bailey High School.
Lou commenced heremployment experience at the Sawyer’s Food Factory, a company that supplied conchchowder, tomato paste and ketchup that was placed on many food stores shelvesfrom 1972 to 1990 (prior to their closure). Lou decided her own destiny andlived her life as free as a bird. She enjoyed the simple things life had tooffer.
On Sunday the 3rd April, 2022 she was complaining of chest pains and sort medical care at the hospitalwhere she was admitted with a diagnose of pneumonia due to a weak heart. When visitedby relatives she assured them that she was ready, if God was. Lou slipped awayquietly as her journey on earth came to an end and her date with her Lord andSaviour began on Easter Sunday 1 April, 2022.
