to
7th September 2021

It was on the 6th day of May 1940 a handsome baby boy was born to Mae Rolle and Holmon McDonald. They named him Locksley Hubert.

Minister Locksley was raised by his grandparents Henry and Stella McDonald in the settlement of Staniard Creek, Andros. His grandparents were faithful members of Church Of God Of Prophecy in Staniard Creek, Andros. There he developed a knowledge for the word of God through Sunday school and Victory Leaders Band Services.

He attended Staniard Creek All Age School. Atthe age of fourteen (14) years old, he migrated to New Providence to learn theskill of carpentry. He truly had gifted hands. He was capable of buildinganything. He had a passion for Construction, he was blessed with theopportunity to work for a Company as a Foreman for a few years and aftergaining so much confidence he left and got a contract to build twenty (20)homes in the Ridgeland Park West Subdivision. At this time Minister Locksleywas able to purchase one of these homes to call his homestead. It was throughthis contract he was encouraged to form his building construction companynamely Marco Building Construction. During this time he pushed himself to learnhow to draft buildings, and taught himself through text books. He drew manyplans and constructed many buildings for Businesses, Churches and Homes inNassau, Paradise Island, Lyford Cay and the Family Islands. He was privilegedto draw and construct four (4) of the Church of God of Prophecy Churchesnamely: Minnie Street, Augusta Street, Gambier and Great Harbour Cay.

In 1960 at the age of twenty (20) years old hevisited the Minnie Street Church, with his uncle the late Roy McDonald toattend a Revival.  It was at this Revivalhe surrendered his life to Jesus Christ under the preached word of the latePastor Hudon Cox. At the end of this Revival he took the right hand offellowship and became a member of the great Church of God of Prophecy.

It was at Minnie Street , Church of God ofProphecy he met and fell in love with Diana Luellyn nee Charlton. They werejoined in Holy Matrimony four (4) years later on August 19th, 1964.This union was bless with four (4) daughters and two (2) sons.

In Ministry at Church of God of Prophecy,Minnie Street he served as Band Leader, C.P.M.A. Leader, Tabernacle Manager andwas a licensed Minister.

He was an ardent supporter financially forMission trips and National Drive. He loved the word of God, lived by the wordand preached it under the anointing at both local and national events.

Minister Locksley was anointed to give, hischildren heard testimonies from individuals whose college tuition he paid, whose bail he signed and who received groceries from him during their hardtimes. He was a ‘giver’ who never boasted!

Oh! How he loved music. He purchased a trumpetand took up lessons with Bro. Lloyd Hamilton. He learned quickly and purchaseda top of the line name brand trumpet known as the constellation.

Minister Locksley hobbies were listening togospel music, he listened to gospel groups such as the Gospel Keynotes, The MightyClouds of Joy, Shirley Caesar, Albertina Walker and Dorothy Norwood just toname a few. He loved to travel; especially spontaneous trips to attend gospelconcerts in Florida. He loved to cook; we will always remember the peas andrice, the rack of lamb, the fresh pork, potato bread, the famous potato saladand the Saturday’s peas soup and dumplings. We will always reminisce on thoseSundays after Church when the entire family congregated to feast on hisdelicious meals.

Minister Locksley was a family man, whobelieved in training his children in the way they should go. He taught us theimportance of trusting the Lord in all our endeavours and the benefits ofdeveloping a prayer life.

He loved to pray; the Saints in Acklins willtruly miss his presence in the first chair of the second row on the right, crying out to his Lord and Savoir. He was present at the mid night and 3:00amprayer meetings. Even though he didn’t have much strength he pushed to Sundayschool, bible study, revivals and programs. Oralee will miss hearing his voicerepeat his favourite phrase, “OH BLESS ME NOW MY SAVIOUR, I COME TO THEE.”

Ecclesiastes 3:1-2 states, “To everythingthere is a season and a time to every purpose under the heaven. A time to beborn and a time to die…..”

On August 28th Minister Locksleyfell ill. During this time he meditated day and night constantly giving hisLord and Saviour his ‘Yet Praise’ from his lips. On Monday September 6that 9:48am, Minister Locksley whispered to his daughter, “Oh Lord, Orie I’mdying.” Her response was, “daddy I believe you are.” Immediately she prayedwith him. Thereafter the Holy Spirit instructed her to text a message to hersiblings to inform them to use their time wisely concerning their father, because time was of the essence. She was obedient and did as she wasinstructed.

On September 7th, at 10:51pm MinisterLocksley transitioned from earth into the presence of the Lord. We can imaginehim shouting, Praise the Lord! Hallelujah I’m FREE!
