On a marvelous day on December 22nd, 1966 a beautiful baby boy was bornnamed Livingston David Oliver to the proud parents of Joseph and Ethel Oliver. He wastheir second son, the third child, and grew up to be a handsome and brilliant youngman. In his youth, he was very adventurous and loved cooking and fishing. He would sitand make fun jokes, with a broad smile and loud chuckle, as we cried and laughed atthem.
During his school years, being on time was always his goal, which extended intohis later years. His motto to his sisters and brothers was,”I’m not going to be late for noone.” After completing Primary School and Senior High School he was supposed to jointhe Police Force but instead decided to follow his passion and pursue a career incarpentry.
He was taught many skills by his father and advanced to be a skillful carpenterand masonry which he had a strong calling for in the field of construction. For sometime, he worked, alongside his father and brothers, on the settlement of Andros. Aftermany years he decided to venture into Nassau to further his career in construction andcreate a life in which he could provide for and take care of his children.
Life took a turn for the worse as he became ill. He was in and out of the hospitalbut he never showed any pain or complained. God had a different plan for him otherthan this life: He only takes the best and plants them in his garden. On May 11th, 2024he took his last breath and went on to live with his Heavenly Father.
He said his goodbyes while shaking his head and with the squeeze of a hand tocommunicate that he understood you were in his presence. Those times were very hardto bear for the family but you, our beloved “Winky”, will always be in our hearts. Mayyour soul rest in peace. We love you.
