On December 3rd 1963 a precious baby boy enteredthe world by Eartha Cox-Pyfrom and Hellarian Butler (Larry). He was given thename Lenwood Roger Cox.
Lenny was raised by his Maternal Grandparents the LateBishop Leon and Minister Alice Cox in a Christian home where manners andrespect was taught from the cradle up. Church and Sunday School was an integralpart of his life. As a child Lenny was quiet and reserved and lived that waythroughout his adult life
Len attended preschool at the Church of God Peardale, at theage of 5 he was enrolled at the Claridge Primary School later moving on to theC. I. Gibson Jr. High then R. M. Bailey Sr. High where he graduated.
As a young boy he worked as an apprentice in his father’sMechanic Shop later moving on to the Portion Control Supermarkets. Aftergraduation from high school he spent a worked at the Hilton Hotel as a SecurityOfficer for many years. Len was encouraged by his Uncle the late Donathan Coxto join the world of Bus Drivers a world he lived in until a second strokecaused him to give it up in 2019, along the way however he made life longrelationships with persons like Netera Forbes, Isreal Mackey and Carla Bastianand her entire family who took him on as their very own. His passion howeverwas when he left the rat race of the road to transport children to theirrespective schools, he recounted many days and countless stories of travelingaround Nassau transporting his children as he called them and he was their Mr.Lenny. Whenever he would meet up with one of them his face would light up asthey would say to him I still remember you Mr. Lenny.
Six weeks prior to his death Lenwooddeveloped a Blood Anurisium and was hospitalized, however before leaving homeon the 28th August, 2022 the last words he uttered was “Jesus comein” while in hospital was visited by 2 of his sisters, his cousin and NursingSister Joy Tucker who made sure his new found faith was encouraged andnurtured. He never made it back to his earthly abode but God saw his tiredframe and dispatched His new Child home where there are no high or low bloodpressures and definitely no pain.
