OnNovember 5th, 1937, a bouncing baby boy was born to the late RobertColebrook and Alsaide Gilbert. He was christened Henry Obadiah Colebrook, Henrywas the first out of two children. Henrywas affectionately called Lil Ceasar, Skinny, McGyver and the King.
HeObtained his education at St. Joseph School. He was adopted by the Halls inBain Town, where he lived.
Henryhad many jobs, which included travelling to the U.S. (on the contract). Heworked at Bakers Industry for many years. After this adventure he was employedat Jolly Rodgers, which he loved. His love for plants and building maintenanceled him to his employment at The National Insurance Board until his retirement.He was a hard worker and always did his best at work, he could fix anything. Hewas one of the best Painters and Carpet Installer and that is where he got hisnick name “McGyver”.
Healso loved Plants so much that he created his own Nursey of various plants andtrees. Henry loved bike Cycling, Boxing and Junkanoo. After he retired, hewould go fishing with Dae Dae, the boys and with his sons in Sea Breeze carnalwith Tony, Dwayne and Trevor. He loves sweets, watermelon and especially cakeand ice cream. He looked forward to seeing his grand and great great grandsespecially Logan and McChai. Logan always bakes cake for him, and he loved iteven if it tasted bad. But he did not mind cause Logan baked it.
Hemarried Veronica Dean on December 4th, 2019. Henry hanged out withthe corner boys on a regular and he sometimes ventured off playing dominos atlong wharf and Montague Beach with the boys he loved. Many years ago, he attended Messiah Baptist,and he became a Deacon in the church. For the past year he was in and out thePrincess Margaret Hospital due to a failing heart.
OnMarch 17th, 2023, his illness turned for the worst and had to behospitalized where he died on March 18th, 2023, at 4:50pmpeacefully.
Hewas Pre-deceased Evelyn, Henry, Anthony, Stephaine, Antoinette, Kevin and Diane(Tiny) Colebrook.
