Glen Leroy Johnson

It was A GLORIOUS DAY on October 25, 1957, when ahandsome, bouncing, baby boy was born to Euterpie Knowles-Collie and NelsonJohnson who are deceased. The air was full of excitement; they named him GlenLeroy Johnson.

Porky,as he was affectionately called was the seventh of nine children and the thirdboy.

 He attended Oakes Field Primary, H.O. Nash JuniorHigh and C. C. Sweeting Senior High schools. He also completed various coursesto broaden his educational horizon.    

 From early infancy, Glen was nurtured and taughtthe Holy Scriptures and at the tender age of fourteen years, he accepted theLord as his personal Savior. His childhood years were ones of discipline.  Glen grew up in The Church of God.

In his early years, he relocated to Freeport,Grand Bahama where he was employed at the Princess Towers and Holiday InnHotels for sixteen years. Glen later returned to Nassau and worked at the MonarchInvestment Company and Affordable Aluminum Products Company Limited from 1999until his demise.

During his illness while in the hospital, his familywas informed by the doctors and nurses, that Glen was praying, praising theLord and giving Him thanks. He was a strong man and an exceptional fighter thatnever gave up.

According to Glen’s employer and coworkers, he wasa fun loving, very dependable and pleasant person who performed his jobprofessionally.

On Friday the 15th October, Glen tookill at home, he claimed that he wasn’t feeling well and took for the worst.Later that evening, he was admitted at the hospital. During his illness, Glentook for the worst. His family was informed by the doctors and nurses. Thefamily was told that Glen was praying and praising the Lord and giving himthanks. Glen was strong and an exceptional fighter that never gave up. Severaldays later he took for the worst. On Thursday 21st October, Glenpassed away to be with his eternal father.

Glen was predeceased by his mother, Euterpie Knowles-Collieand father, Nelson Johnson, sisters, Maude Collie and Naomi Johnson andbrothers, James and John Collie.
