George was an ambitious young man who completed the all age school at fourteenand travelled to Nassau to find gainful employment at the age of fifteen. In his early years of employment he worked with Levi Gibson Realtor, d’AlbenasAgency and Russell’s Cleaning Company where he spent many years.

George was personable and made many friends throughout the years which led himto become an entrepreneur working for himself and employing friends and familymembers. During this time he married his now deceased wife “Gwenie.” BothGeorge and Gwen lived a comfortable life surrounded by children and family.

George loved talking politics, watching the news, old western and karatemovies   and most of all the series of Roots which aired during theseventies. He loved that movie so much he would make sure he was home in timeto watch it, hence the nickname, “Chicken George” a character in the movie.

George was also commonly called Francis.  In his latter years afterretiring you would find him outside planting, transplanting and watering hisplants. Some days he would sit of lay outside under the mango tree aftercompleting his yard chores. A lot of Francis conversation would be aboutcurrent and some past events when chatting with neighbors, friends and familywho would often stop by to find out how he was.

Francis missed his beloved wife and spoke about her often. He had a seizure, and was admitted to hospital for a short time before he passed. He will bemissed and his memorable parting words, “Take care of yourself.”
