Carnetta was born on October 2nd, 1937, on the island of New Providence to the late Gladstone and Joyce Williams. She was the last remaining off our siblings.
Carnetta received her early education at Our Lady’s Catholic School. Being a naturally strong-willed, independent, hard-working person she pushed energetically through life with great determination to succeed. Her various talents led her to pursue her career in the field of tourism and hospitalities. She worked in the hotel industry at seven of the most popular hotels in the Bahamas, which led her to open her own restaurant,“El Dorado” which she managed for ten years, not only strengthening her love for cooking, but also teaching the value of hard work to her family.
Her life of service took an even greater turn when she started to attend the Golden Gates Assembly, in 1983. Here, she became a Christian and dedicated her life completely as a servant to God in 1986.

Carnetta lived her life to the fullest. She traveled extensively all around The Bahamas and the world.
She loved life. Her family and faithful friends meant the world to her, and she did whatever she could to keep
them all close to her. She loved being surrounded by people so much that no significant holiday or birthday
would pass without a gathering for food at "Grammy's" house. She was known to have a "miracle pot" where
everyone who came was fed. Her house was never empty. There was always a steady stream of family, friends,
and visitors from all walks of life at her house. Everyone in the neighborhood knew and cared for "Ms.
Williams:' "Netta': as she was affectionately called by her childhood friends, was a tower of strength to her
family. She, in her lifetime, acquired the phenomenal trait of a "Virtuous Woman ... A woman that feareth the
Lord': as mentioned in Proverbs 31. "She riseth also while it is yet night and giveth meat to her household .. :'. Her
children can affirm this truth.
In January of this year, she was diagnosed with a failing heart and was told she would die in a matter of weeks.
She fought that diagnosis with all her heart and God allowed her the opportunity to live eleven more months to
celebrate her 86th birthday with the comfort of her closest friends and family. She took her final breath on
Monday, November 27th, 2023.
Although she was predeceased by two of her sons, Peter Walkes and Anthony Linden, and granddaughter Kira
Walkes, her legacy and memories will continue to live on in the hearts of her loved ones.
