OBITUARY
To everything there is a season, and a time to every purposeunder heaven:
Atime to be born
On Tuesday, August 14, 1956 in the city of Nassau, NewProvidence, a handsome baby boy was born to Fred Adderley Jr. (deceased) andIrma Ferguson.  He was given the nameCarlos Ricardo Adderley. Growing up he had an adventurous childhood withhis brother and cousins shooting marbles, slinging chimmies (small bird),spinning top, slingshot, skating down Blue Hill, playing baseball andbasketball earning the name "Hot to go". As a young man he continued in various sports tournamentsas an avid Dart and pool player, competing in many tournaments for theassociation.
Atime to educate
Carl (Nookie) as he was affectionately called, received hisearly education at St. Agnes Kindergarten, St Bebes Catholic School as well asPyform Secondary School. He completed his high school education at JordanMemorial Prince William School. He received numerous professional developmentcertificates.  Continuing his quest forknowledge he enrolled in BTVI and COB, where he received his 3-phase ElectricalCertification and became a Licensed Electrician
Atime to work
Carl was an industrious and hardworking person, with hisspirit of entrepreneurship he proudly stood on street corners sellingnewspapers.  With discipline savings hepurchased a bicycle and expanded his business distributing newspapers tocorporate businesses.  Carl moved to WestEnd, Grand Bahama and gained employment as a Swimming Pool Maintenance man andlater joined Jack Tar Hotel as a Pest Control Agent. His desire to work in thehospitality industry led
him to work at the King's Inn Hotel as a Busboy and quicklyadvanced to a Waiter.  Carl relocated toNassau, to work at the newly established Club Med in the MaintenanceDepartment. Recognizing the opportunity for advancement he gained employment atBritannia Beach Hotel, now known as the Atlantis Paradise Island in theEngineering Department as a Boiler Room Mechanic.  While working as a dedicated employee forapproximately 23 years at Atlantis, he also served as a shop-steward for TheBahamas Hotel Catering Allied Workers Union. Carl's desire to be anentrepreneur led him to resign and open his own business RC ElectricalCompany.  Wanting to further himself inthis industry he expanded by forming a construction and developing companycalled Genco Developments Limited and CR Construction.

A Love for Music
As a result of Carl's love for music, he joined TheLegendary Backstabbers as one of the original members along with Leonard"Linc Scavella" Ferguson, David "Funky D" Ferguson, Roland "MJ"Delancy (deceased) performing locally in varies night clubs and internationallyin Atlantic City, New Jersey.  After notperforming for 30 years, in 2012 Carl "Smooth" Adderley reunited onstage with the group at the "Artist United 4 Da Cause" this was thegroup's final performance.  A dedicatedmember of Mount Tabor Church, he was a staple singer in the choir up to thetime of his demise.

A Time for Love

Carl was a very affectionate individual he enjoyed the simple pleasuresof life. Carl made it known and demonstrated to all his Family played a vitalpart of his life. Carl incorporated Godly principles and wisdom throughout hislife. Carl he was a loving, caring, supportive, and God fearing husband, anexcellent father, and grandfather he was patient and caring. He covered hisfamily every morning and night in prayer calling everyone by name. Carl was agood son, his overwhelming love for his mum, and her love for him, she wouldalways start her day with making a phone call to him.  A wonderful brother, sharing his love,equally among his sisters; in every phone conversation with them, Carl wouldsay "You know you are my favorite sister but don't tell the rest of myfavorite sisters that, I said so". He would always bragged about his bigbrother’s cooking skills, his ability to fix any type of electrical device, andwhat he was most proud of was that, his brother feared nobody. Carl’s lovingand affectionate nature will be missed and cherished by all
