A TIME TO BE BORN
On February 20th, 2004, a precious bouncing baby girl was born to Bishop Cleveland Antone and Minister Indiana Mitchell. After seeing this miracle, they both decided to name her Camille Antoinette Sherene Mitchell. Her laughter, exuberant energy, and her unique personality immediately captured the hearts of all. During Camille’s younger years, family and friends began to observe how overjoyed she became especially when it was time to snack on her favorite foods. This love of good food earned her the beloved nickname, “Tuggy.” It was a name she answered to with glee. As she continued to grow older, Camille’s love for community, family, and cuisine continued to flourish.
A TIME TO CONQUER EDUCATION
Camille strongly believed “If service [was] beneath [her], then leadership [was] beyond [her].” (Jerome Gay Jr) When Camille began preschool at the Center for Early Education, her success was undeniable. She graduated as Valedictorian. After graduating from the Center for Early Education, she attended Sir Gerald Cash Primary School. At Gerald Cash, she maintained a 3.5 G.P.A and impacted the campus through her membership in the choir, participation in the National Primary School Spelling Bee, National Primary School Student of the Year award recipient, GLAT Attack victor and ultimately Head Girl.
As Camille advanced in her journey of higher education, her persistence for academic excellence continued at St. John’s College, there she served as a cheerleader, won the Anglican School Festival (2018), won St. John’s College’s Emerald Star Pageant (2015), served as Vice President of the Builders Club (2018),and led St. John's To victory as their soloist in the E. Clement Bethel National Arts Festival (2018). In the latter of 2018, Camille transferred from St. John’s College to Anatol Rodgers Senior High School.
At Anatol Rodgers Senior High School, Camille’s passion and purpose began to steer her voluntary work and academic performance. She served as: Female Senior Prefect Captain, and Co-Founder of the Royal Voices. She also served as President and Human Resources Vice President of her Junior Achievement company Bahamas Telecommunications Company. Other areas of service include Key Club of Anatol Rodger High Vice President, Co-CEO of Daughters with PURPOSE, West 1 Warriors Youth Empowerment Programme Assistant Chaplin, CEO of Words of Wisdom for Life, The Bahamas National Children’s Choir and College Club Bahamas.
After graduating from Anatol Rodgers with honors, she was awarded a full tuition scholarship to Benedict College, South Carolina, through the Public School Scholarship Programme. As a sophomore cybersecurity major, Camille was awarded the President’s Award for Academic Excellence. At Benedict, she was an executive member of the International Student Society, the Benedict College Choir, and International Praise Church of God in South Carolina. Camille concluded her final semester of study with a 3.9 G.P.A.
A TIME TO ACHIEVE PURPOSE
At the tender age of six, Camille gave her life to God during a Children’s Church session. One year after giving her life to the Lord, She was recruited to minister in dance with the Ordained Worshippers at the General Assembly (2012). This ministerial opportunity was one that brought young Camille much fear. Despite the dance beginning after the downbeat of the music, Camille froze for more than two minutes with her face soaked with tears. Fortunately, an elder in the service noticed her fears and encouraged her to try again. Once the music restarted and Camille found her place, she danced under the anointing for the first time. Her ministry of dancing was consistent throughout her life as she ministered at many churches and schools. Camille gave God all His due glory.
In similar fashion, Camille’s ministry of music began with a deep feeling of fear. However, with the loving support of her mother, Minister Indiana Mitchell, Camille re-focused and allowed God to use her as His minstrel. At her home church, Cathedral of Praise, Camille served as a praise member and leader and competed with the team in the Group Expressive Interpretative dance, Small Vocal Ensemble, and Group Skits categories (Honorable mention) at Teen Talent in Tennessee. Camille also shared her gift of song at church events, school events, and sang at the opening of Youth Month with her founded ensemble, The Royal Voices. Whenever Camille opened her mouth to sing, she often led others into the Presence of God. Although Camille was young, her zeal for God was real. She was a true scholar of the Bible, a minister of dance and song, and encouraged all of her friends to embrace Jesus as their friend and savior. She also achieved the nomination of Youth of the Year award (2018-2020).
A TIME TO REST
Camille never lost her relationship with God. Although she battled with pain, the loving presence of family and the everlasting presence of God gave her comfort. In her last days, Camille mentioned her desire to be with Jesus in eternity. On November 18th, Camille was called home to be with her lord and savior, Jesus Christ.
