HIS ENTRANCE

Calvin Peter Davis affectionately known as “Kelly, Dave, and Apple”was born September 11, 1939 to the late Peter and Rowena Alina Davis (neeJarrett). He was the second child in a family of six siblings who allpredeceased him. “Grandpee” would become his favorite pet name.

HIS EDUCATION & WORK LIFE

He obtained his formal education at the Sandilands All Age School inFox Hill.

Calvin grew up to be a hardworking and industrious man who was alwaysgood with his hands. He worked in the hospitality industry as a waiter andbarman.  He was a trained carpenter and wasskilled hanging drapes and installingcarpets. This became his trade for most of his life.  During his industrious career he worked at theLe Cabaret Theater, Bed & Bath (upholestry), Kelly’s Lumber Yard, and inlater years more entrepreneurial pursuits until his retirement.

A TIME TO LOVE

He met and married the late Dedrie Carmeta Davis (nee Johnson) February4th, 1961. This union was blessed with 8 beautiful children,Vandria, Cindy, Kim, Janet, Calvin Jr., Jill, Marvin, and Lamar Troy.  One significant aspect of their partnershipwas the rearing of their children to be God fearing and respectful.  They both ensured that the home they nurturedfor their children was filled with love. Their kids all knew that Daddy will reprimand, but Mummy dished out thepunishments, together they led a united front.

HIS EXIT

Daddy had an infectious personality that appealed to persons from allwalks of life. As his eyesight grew dim he still remained very independent andself-sufficient. Despite his impairments, he imparted wisdom and faith on all familyand friends. Many of his family, friends, and colleagues knew him for the dailyphone conversations and debates.

He accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and savior at an early age andhis faith grew continuously. As a child he attended The Church of God of Prophesywith his mother and in later years he followed the Seventh Day Adventist faith. He always prayed for others and encouraged others in their faith.

In the early morning hours of December 11, 2022, he quietly placed hishand in God’s hand and walked into eternity. His death came without warning to any of us and leaves a message to allleft behind, to “Be ye also ready” and stay focus on Christ for none of us knowwhere death is……..live to die in Christ because eternity is everlasting.
