On the 29th of November1925 in the quiet settlement of Long Bay Cays, South Andros, a bouncing babyboy was born to Moses and Festina Pennerman (deceased). He was given the nameStanfred Pennerman. At the age of 8, Stanfred was sent to New Providence tolive with family members and be educated. Upon completion of his earlyeducation, Stanfred attended trade school. As a young man he mastered theconstruction field; masonry, carpentry and some tiling.
Stanfred’slife was one of absolute surrender to the will of the Lord as he praised God atall times and through all things. After losing his first wife and infantdaughter in childbirth, Stanfred was able to find love once again at the age of33, when he married his second wife Maude Ferguson. This union was blessed withthe birth of a son, Frederick Arlington Pennerman. When the Lord called hisbeloved wife Maude home in 1985 at the age of 60, Stanfred focused on the workof the church, sharing his faith with his family, church members and son.
Stanfred accepted the Lord anddedicated his life to the work of the church in his early twenties. He beganhis pastorship at Jerusalem Baptist Church which was located on Market Streetnext to Demeritte’s Funeral Home. He later relocated and started PennermanPentecostal Ministry on Wrights Lane off Wulff Road. His son Fred recallsplaying the keyboard as he assisted his father with his Sunday services.
Stanfred was able to bask in the loveof his son whom he loved greatly. Frederick gladly provided his father with careand nurturing in his latter years just as his father had done for him all hislife. Frederick ensured a caregiver was hired to be at Stanfred side when hewas at work. His grandniece Dorothy Maycock visited regularly sitting withStanfred and joining him in his Sunday worships. Mr. Johnson during his visits from Eleutherawould join Stanfred and Dorothy.
On February 15, 2024, during a follow-upvisit to Princess Margaret Hospital, Stanfred became ill and was taken to thetrauma room. The Doctors noted what his pressure was low and during treatment, his heart stopped. Attempts to revive him failed and Stanfred passed away thatmorning.
He was tired of this life with itstroubles and strife, so Stanfred moved away to the home of the blest in theland of sweet rest. Stanfred is with Jesus where he will live forever.
