On September 25th 1981 in the capital of the Bahamas, Albury and Naomi Cunningham welcomed their youngest child a beautiful baby girl, they named her Atara Ronique Cunningham. She flourished into a young woman.
She received her early education at Carmichael Primary School. She completed her secondary education at S. C. McPherson Senior High School. Atara was a very ambitious young lady. While at Bahamas Technical and Vocational Institute (BTVI) she was enrolled in the cosmetology program. She worked at Wendy’s for a time and several other businesses. She then enrolled at the College of the Bahamas (COB) in the teaching Program. She was also employed by the Ministry of Education for seven years.
On October 23rd, 2006 she married Ervin Charles Joseph, the love of her life. The union produced Erivano Danizel Stefon Joseph and her princess Ervinay Annalea Shammah Joseph.
During the later part of 2018 her health started to decline due to diabetes. Two years later she got her right leg amputated. In 2022 she got her left leg amputated. In February of 2023 her health took a turn for the worst and she was diagnosed with congestive heart failure (CHF). In March of 2023 she had a mild stroke . The later part of June she was admitted into hospital until the time of her demise.
Atara spread her wings to heaven during the early sunrise on the morning of July11th 2023 at the Princess Margaret Hospital (PMH).
She was predeceased by her Mother Naomi Arthur/Cunningham & Father Albury Cunningham.
