Andrew Nathaniel Dean Sr.

His Entrance:

On the Island of New Providence twin boys were born on November 6, 1955, to the late Hilda Dean & Irvin Johnson. Oneaffectionately called Andrew Nathaniel Dean.

His Early Life:

Andrew grew up with his late Uncle & Aunt Herbert &Zurline Johnson and their children whom he considered his brothers &sisters, Raymond, Michael & Herbert Johnson Jr.

His Education:

Andrew’s childhood education started at Harold Road schoolafter which he attended

A.F Adderley High School upon graduation in 1973 where heobtained G.C.E O levels in commerce, mathematics, bookkeeping, businesseconomics, accounting, general educational studies, accounting principles &business.

Lindsey Hopkins Education Center 1974-Basic Accounting forhospitality, Night Auditing & managerial accounting 1 &2. Intermediateaccounting.

Bahamas Hotel Council 1975- Food & beverage control &procedures, hospitality industry/income audit.

1977-78 Educational Institute of American Hotel & MotelAssociation: Correspondence studies-accounting for hotel industry, hospitalitymanagerial accounting & f & b controls.

1984-85 Retail data services, micros computers, windows,lotus symphony, Microsoft office, real world, passport accounting software,computerized lodging system, epitome property management systems.

Working Life:

Andrew left the island of New Providence and relocated toChub Cay Club, Berry Islands from 1973-1992. He started from the bottom as apainter and worked up to financial controller/ bookkeeper & Marina Manager.He worked over 19 years in this capacity upon which he relocated to Nassau andworked at Comfort Suites Paradise Island in 1993- 2010. In 2014-2020 He joineda new team, Norman’s Cay Operations in the same capacity as an accountant.

A time to Love:

While trying to stay focus with bookkeeping, Andrew wasdistracted by a fine, mangra skin, hard heel, Andros crab catcher name IrisWalkes. This couple fell in love and was joined in holy matrimony on September23, 1978. They were blessed with four children, Saulie, Andrea, Herbie andAndrew Jr.

New Birth:

Over the years Andrew was engaged in church. In chub cay heassisted with prayer, scripture readings, sermon etc. After relocating toNassau, he attended Trinity City of Praises and within the most recent years heattended United Faith Ministries International with his family. During thistime, he was active in early morning 5am prayer meetings via zoom. He sharedhis testimony and recommitted his life to the Lord, Jesus Christ.

His Exit:

In November of 2021, Andrew needed several blood transfusionswhich became a challenge for him due to the covid-19 pandemic and because ofhim having a rear blood type. During the last few months, he was back &forth between Doctor’s hospital & Princess Margaret Hospital. Andrew wasadmitted at the Princess Margaret Hospital on Wednesday March 2, 2022, and onSaturday March 5, 2022, at about 1am, he transitioned from earth to glory.

His precious memories will be cherished byHis wife of 43 years:Iris Walkes Dean, 4 children: AndreaBochard, Saulie, Herbie and Andrew Dean Jr. (Ninks); Son in Law: Arnold Bochard; GrandChildren: Kobe, Cameron and Destiny Walkes, Arieana, Aaron, A’mari Bochard,Shantae Rahming, Adrian & Joel Dean; Godchildren:Latoya Mackey, Athalia Swann and Quincy Collie; Siblings: Arnsel, Bradley, Irvin, Paul, Doyle, Earle, Barbara,Melonie, and Verdeka Johnson, Carolyn Moss, Peggy Arthur, Diana Brown,Evangeline Lewis, Loretta Lewis, and Valencia Thompson; In-laws: Bertram Murphy, Kenneth Brown, James Lewis, Audley Fowler,Apostle Roscoe, Herbert, Floyd, Alexander Walkes, Charles Rolle, Yvonne Latoya,Jacqueline, and Ikenna Johnson, Beulahmae Fowler, Pastor Jennifer Roberts,Delores, Dorothy, Barbara, Sandra, Joan Walkes, Hilda Bowleg, Marie Evans; Nieces/ Nephews: Iris, Irene, Arthur,Albert, Alvene, and Alvin Murphy.
