ATIME TO BE BORN
On a beautiful day inNassau, Bahamas, on the 17th day of September 1953, a bouncing babyboy was born to John Taylor and Olive Saunders (both deceased). They named him Alfred John Taylor. He was nurtured by both of his parents withthe assistance of his second mother, Geneva LaFleur.
ATIME TO LEARN
Alfred spent hischildhood years at Woodcock Primary School and then at Eastern SeniorSchool. After spending a few years inLong Island he returned to Nassau and attended Robinson Road High School whichis now known as C.H. Reeves High School.
ATIME TO WORK
Alfred begun his workinglife as an entrepreneur. His first jobwas a shoe cleaner/shiner. While stillin his senior year of high school, he was employed as a packing boy at CityMarket Food Store. Later he moved on tothe Nassau Beach Hotel as a waiter.
Alfred later moved toFreeport, Grand Bahama and begun a modeling career. This venture afforded him the opportunity torelocate to Chicago, the Windy City where his career blossomed. He lived in Chicago for fifteen (15) years,then he returned to Nassau. Hiscontinued his professional life as a bartender at Britannia Towers and SandalsRoyal Bahamian Resort. Then Alfredagain ventured into entrepreneurship as a taxi driver “607” until his demise.
ATIME TO LOVE
Alfred was introduced tohis beautiful wife, Bernadette Farrington in 2006 by his cousin StephanieCooper. After years of dating they weremarried in 2013. Both hardworking, yetfound time to spend with family and friends; travelling, enjoying life, helpingothers and spent many evenings on Long Wharf Beach with the Beach Boys and BeachGirls Domino Club.
ATIME TO SAY FAREWELL
It was 2020 when Alfredbegun to experience health challenges. Earlier in 2021 he travelled to Cuba to seek medical attention. This visit resulted in him returning homewith the hopes of returning later for surgery. But God had other plans for Alfred and saw fit to make his electionshore, eternal in the heavens on Tuesday, April 27th when he slippedaway quietly.
