Announcement/Obituary: A time to be born On January 10th1965 in the city of Nassau Bahamas a handsome baby boy was born to the proud parentage of Cecil and Predensia Smith. He was the fifth of eight children and they named him Jerome Andy Fritzgerald Smith. A time to be educated Jerome or Laing as he was affectionately called by his friends, received his early education at Uriah McPhee Primary School and later he graduated in 1982 from .L.W. Young High School A time to work Eager to join the work force, Jerome was employed at Mackey s Auto, Bahamas Transport and Ministry of Works in the garage section where he held the position of Mechanic Foreman and was employed there until his demise. A time to enjoy life: Jerome was a kind hearted, soft spoken, loyal, dedicated, hardworking and free spirited individual. Who was fun to be around and loved his family unconditionally. Jerome was all the aforementioned characteristics but when made upset he became a different individual. A time to die Jerome became ill on October 25th, 2014 with severe pains to the stomach and back. He was admitted to the Princess Margaret Hospital (PMH) where he stayed for two weeks. Although still experiencing pains he was later discharged. Two weeks after being discharged, he contacted his sister Amanda complaining of those same pains where she transported him to the Medi-center to receive further assistance before being referred to PMH again; where he was later discharged that night. On November 25th 2014, Jerome had his brother Conrad contact their niece Hendrea to remind her of his Doctor s appointment that was scheduled for November 27th 2014. Jerome on the morning of November 26th 2014 received a call from his mother who was compelled to pray for him and upon praying for him she stated, He sounds well but was grieved with the news that he had passed away moments later.
