Announcement/Obituary: On September 4, 1969 a chubby, handsome baby boy was born at the Princess Margaret Hospital to loving and caring parents. His mother, Salome Rolle, who predeceased him, dedicated him to the Lord from birth and pronounced very often that he was her priest as a result he spent his early years as an altar boy, and working around the church. He was brought up in the admonition and love of the Lord. Manners and respect was the order of the day in the home in which he grew up as a result he grew into an affectionate, infectious, loving and caring individual. Ray received his education at the Holy Name Catholic School in Bimini, St Pauls Catholic School in Freeport, Grand Bahama, Bimini All Age School and A.F. Adderley High School in Nassau. He loved playing baseball; he played at St. Pauls School and in Bimini. Ricardo Linus Rolle affectionately called Riah or Ray loved people and had a special love for children. His radiant laughter and smile speaks of his character and personality. He believed that life was meant to be lived to its fullest. This accounts for his vibrant and energetic persona. Ray had a unique way of making everyone he came in contact with laugh, feel welcomed and special. His mission was to help those in need even if it meant neglecting his own needs. Love is an understatement of his feelings for his children. Ray was an industrial young man and shortly after graduation found employment at Bahamas Battery and Radiator in Nassau where he quickly learnt the trade and became one of the top mechanics. He also worked as a fuel truck driver at general aviation in Nassau and as manager of the Island House in Bimini. He worked and helped out wherever he was needed. He was willing and ready to make life good for others. He loved the clouds as it was where he felt closest to God and tranquillity. Therefore he followed his heart and became a certified Pilot. He flew charters for over 15 years. He was an A1 pilots who left a lasting impression on everyone who was so privileged to fly with him. He loved debating and arguing about politics and just about any discussion that was being had he made sure his views and opinions was heard by those whom he debated with as well as the surrounding audiences. Ray had a few incidents with his plane that he overcame, but the lost of his plane destroyed his dreams. On June 2, 2014 at about 3:45 he decided to take on last flight this time it would not be in an airplane but on the wings of angels and his destination was not San Andros Airport or General Aviation but in the comforting and caring arms of his maker. He is now reunited with his dear mother who was his world.
